The FeedRoom Selected as Online Video Provider for New Defense Media Activity Initiative

Government Partner, OMNITEC Solutions, Awarded Four-year, $37 Million Contract to Consolidate and Modernize U.S. Department of Defense Websites

NEW YORK, NY (May 5, 2009) - The FeedRoom, a pioneer in online video communications, and a market leader in live streaming video and digital asset management, today announced that it will serve as the online video solutions provider for the new Defense Media Activity (DMA) initiative as part of a significant contract awarded by the U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) to the company’s government solutions partner, OMNITEC Solutions, Inc.

As the new, centralized public affairs organization for all DoD branches, DMA will address the global information and communications needs of the U.S. Army, Navy, Air Force, Marine Corps and Coast Guard.  The FeedRoom’s video solutions, combined with OMNITEC’s services, will enhance the abilities of the Secretary of Defense, Service Secretaries JCS and other military leaders to communicate messages and themes, disseminate command information, improve quality of life and morale, and sustain DoD readiness.

“Our selection as a key solution provider for this initiative reaffirms our strength in the federal market, and extends the industry-leading work we are presently doing with OMNITEC to provide live and on-demand Web video for The Pentagon Channel and the U.S. Marine Corps,” said Mark Portu, President and CEO, The FeedRoom.  “As new sites come online, the opportunity for us to increase our footprint in DoD properties is immense, and represents an important next step in our growth.”

The four-year, $37 million contract awarded to OMNITEC covers the provision of software solutions, new media integration and other support to upgrade thousands of DoD Websites. This work includes consolidating and modernizing the Web properties under a common architecture to improve communications and produce substantial cost savings by eliminating redundancies in Website administration, hardware and bandwidth.

“The DMA is one of the largest contract awards we’ve received to date,” said Morris Brown, President and CEO of OMNITEC Solutions. “As part of the rigorous selection process, DMA sought a Web video provider who could effectively support hundreds of government Websites, deliver high levels of service, and ensure Section 508 compliance.  Working with The FeedRoom enables us to meet the emerging media technology needs of the government agencies we serve, and provides a unique differentiator in our overall offerings to the federal marketplace.”

Delivered as Software-as-Service, FeedRoom Enterprise Video PlatformTM (EVP) 4.0 is a scalable video publishing system that integrates seamlessly with existing content management platforms, network security standards and leading reporting and analytics solutions.  The flexible system supports a wide variety of customizable, lightweight video players, including FeedRoom AccessTM, a Section 508-compliant solution that meets the needs of users with disabilities through an array of features designed to work with or without assistive technologies.
