We are currently seeking experienced candidates for:

Professional Services Engineer

Location: Westborough, MA

 

The Professional Services Engineer is responsible for the development and implementation of custom professional services engagements of ActiveMedia, The FeedRoom’s enterprise digital asset management solution.  This position will also be responsible for the implementation of the solution in either the hosted datacenter or occasionally onsite at the customer location.   You will be responsible for delivering completed projects on time, on spec and with first-rate quality.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Work with sales and customers to identify customization requirements and scope services for Statements of Work
  • Accurately estimate work efforts and deliver on schedule
  • Customize existing ActiveMedia UI using the technologies outlined below
  • Ability to spec and create new Web Application components using Java EE
  • Document and maintain technical specifications and customizations
  • Write test scripts for use in QA and continuous automation
  • Fix bugs and unit test new code
  • Install and upgrade ActiveMedia software in hosted datacenter or onsite at customer’s location

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
  • At least 5 years of professional experience
  • Proven technical leadership skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong debugging and troubleshooting skills, including integrated debugging in Eclipse IDE
  • Strong Web development skills using Spring Framework, Java EE, including JSP, Struts, Tiles and Applets
  • Proven client-side development skills using Dojo, JavaScript, HTML and CSS
  • Continuous integration and build management using Hudson, Subversion, Ant & Ivy dependency management
  • Experience configuring and managing Tomcat & JBoss Web application servers
  • Experience with Oracle and SQL server-related development
  • Candidate must be authorized to work in the United States
  • Some travel required

 

The following additional qualifications are highly desirable:

  • Computer Science degree
  • Unix/Linux experience
  • Web Services and SSO security
  • Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign and Photoshop primarily)
  • QuarkXPress

 

Software Developer

Location: Westborough, MA

Java developer with 5+ years of experience in core Java, 2+ years of experience with Java EE Web services, and hands-on experience with at least three of the following: OSGi, Mule, ServiceMix/Fuse, CXF, ActiveMQ, or Spring WS.

Other desired skills and experience include writing integration tests for Java-based Web interfaces (GUI and otherwise), extending maven-based archetypes, leading test-driven development projects, and mentoring less-experienced developers.

 

Ideal candidate be able to work on multiple projects without incurring high context-switching costs, be very detail-oriented, and capable of working in small teams as well as on her/his own.

 

Digital Media Technology Internships

Location: New York City, Westborough, MA and San Francisco, CA

 

Our internship program is designed to give college students and others an opportunity to complement their formal education with career-related experience in a challenging, creative and professional environment.  Required time commitment: 16-24 hours a week for three months.

 

Because our internships are unpaid, we encourage students to look into/arrange college credit for their participation prior to applying.  Please state your specific area of interest and skills when applying.  Allow 2-4 weeks to receive a response.  We cannot respond to phone calls.
